“Recycled Beer Bottles”

Recently added to our sustainability commitment are empty ’12oz. Beer Bottles’!

A new 355ml package size was recently added by the Feds to our permitted bottling lineup. Therefore, we are encouraging all our existing and new guests to start saving their empty 12oz. beer bottles and deliver them to us along with their empty 750ml wine bottles and 4oz. and 8 oz. jelly/jam jars.

It is estimated that over 70% of empty 12oz. beer bottles end up in America’s landfills. If we add this number to the estimated 4 billion empty wine bottles that are dumped into our landfills every year, we are looking at a major environmental disaster! With your help and support, Bunker Hill Vineyard & Winery is recognized as the Greenest Winery in America. Bunker Hill Vineyard & Winery is the ONLY winery in the U.S.A. that uses 100% recycled wine bottles. Now, we can proudly say, that we are the ONLY winery in the U.S.A. that uses 100% recycled beer bottles.

As you can well imagine, it takes huge amounts of energy to create new wine and beer bottles. In the last 18 months Bunker Hill Vineyard & Winery has recycled over 117,000 empty wine bottles. Recycling a single wine bottle saves enough energy to run your PC or television for 3 hours! Together, we are making a huge and positive impact on the world around us.
